Lots of fun. Flashman definitely reminds me of Donald Jack’s Bartholomew Bandy, but Royal Flash also seems similar to a book I enjoyed, called For Murder I Charge More, by Frank McAuliffe. Anyway, Flashman has completed the training he did not want to do, has had unpleasant adjustments made to his appearance that he does not like, and is ready for the secret mission he would rather ditch. On we go!

First, this is really working for me; I figured it would, because The Reavers, a “later, lesser” work by the author, was fun, and that boded well for GMF’s vastly more successful series. Secondly, the closest I’ve read to Flashman stuff, but from my country, is the Bandy Papers series by Donald Jack, which I love. In fact, this book reminds me of Me Bandy, You Cissie just a bit. Guessing Jack was inspired by Flashy.

Two Envelopes And A Phone
is starting
Alright, so I'll pick this up from the bookstore, while on my lunch break shortly; it has come in - but, I did get 42 pages into A Feast for Crows, and just by a bit of bad timing, that means Royal Flash will get started not quite right away. Soon. I may even do one of the novels in JCO's Double Trouble, before getting to this. I did do The Reavers by GMF, to tide me over, so I don't feel that guilty. But very soon!
