Erec gave her a sideways glance. "Maybe they'll start to sell it at the fastaurants." Bethany laughed. "I'll have a Super Star Ambrosia meal, please. Hold the bacon."
Ah yes. After avoiding this book and finally being done with my other ones, I open to where my bookmark is and I find this to greet me. Yippee, I get to read this now 😑.

Fastaurants?!? Super Star Ambrosia meal?!? HOLD THE BACON?!?!?!?! What the heck???? Bethany honey, your ambrosia must have gone bad.
Ambrosia is freaking fruit salad and you considered having BACON on it?!
Sorry, but this book is so easy to bash.

As I’ve progressed further in the book I can still tell that there is a lack of depth in a lot of the source material. For example, who is this evil crown prince? They could’ve provided more background on who he is in relation to the three king/queens. Instead what? Towards the end, Erec Rex is just shoved into a room with him. This rando who abuses power and wants to murder him. Like context would’ve helped.

I remember reading this book back in school and having a really good impression of it. But going back to it now, I’m finding that it is full of awkward bumps in the journey. Eric’s sudden outbursts at his mom. The narration just isn’t smooth. And neither are the transitions.
