I looooove the line “These were burly, big-shouldered he-she’s who carried their womanhood in work-roughened hands.” The idea that womanhood can look SO vastly different than the way it’s been defined for us is sooooo important to me. I love that this book treats that idea like second nature!

this is a really hard book to read. but its also beautiful. im really thankful for all the butches that paved the way for me.
