Really enjoying this book. It's a bit on the 'academic' side, but moves at a brisk pace, so you don't get bogged down in terminology and minutiae.
The 1970s truly were an amazing period for film, both in England and the United States.
Whereas in the US, independents breached the studio system as it was crumbling, in Great Britain there were several sources of major funding for adventurous directors.
