Status Updates From A Loyal Companion

THIS BOOK IS SO PRECIOUS I’M DYING

Not that much a fan of books narrated by animals.

the Loyal Companion is a dog ... literally

POV switches back and forth between dig and narrator.

Told from the dog’s point

Told from the dogs point of view.

There were quite a few moments I thought the book must be about to end. And it didn't. Didn't. Didn't again. But then it did. And it was wonderful!

There is so much artificial lengthening. Really, did the father have to disappear.
But they are so cute in their courtship, and they fell into it so naturally.

Okay, I do like the animal voices. Though they are mighty clever, all these references and then talking in Latin?

The introduction was too long.
I'm not sure if I'm amused or annoyed by the dog's philosophical chapter introductions.
But, gosh, now that it's all happening, I'm loving it!

Absolutely love the writing style!

"'Hugh Randolph, you get that muttonhead of a major in Grovesnor Square Park at two o'clock this afternoon or else.'
'Or else what?'
'Or else I'll go to Ware House myself, or I'll inform Grandmama he compromised me, or I'll just tell Blanche Carstairs you wet your bed till you were twelve.'" -- Sibling rivalry ;) Hahaha!

"The elderly ladies had run out of the drawing room and were huddled together across the hall.
'My stars!' one cried.
'My smelling salts!' another called.
'My spectacles!' a third complained. 'I can't see a bloody thing!'"

Lord Warebourne and Lord Berke are fighting in the dowager duchess's hallway. The old ladies are all excited. :)

Started this one yesterday in high dudgeon because My. Kindle. Stopped. Working. and I couldn't continue with my other book. -.-

I rarely get this angry towards characters in a book but what they do to the poor hero is worth getting this angry about!
