Part 1 (Lec. 1-5): Wow! Never read a math book so clearly and accessibly written. While I was familiar with about 40% of the concepts in this chapter on 'Fundamentals', it brought a fresh light to how to think about the 60% I wasn't. Induced matrix norm and SVD have always been cryptic to me having done only linear algebra. These 'lectures' did indeed bring out the power of linear algebra as promised in the Preface.

From the looks of it, this book is going to be that for numerical linear algebra what Allen&Tildesley's Computer Simulation of Liquids is for molecular simulations or Callen's Thermodynamics is for, well, thermodynamics and statistical mechanics.
Really excited to reading it along with the MATH 550 course I'm taking this Fall.
BTW, the page number on Goodreads are exactly half of actual. So, I'll scale them.
