I have always wanted to know more about Irish history so this little section on Ireland during the reign of Elizabeth was quite interesting to me.

"Elizabeth died knowing that Ireland had been reconquered at the cost of its alienation, a price to be paid by her successors and for centuries after."

I am curious if it was really such a turning point in Irish relations as is implied here.
