Status Updates From The Simon Iff Stories & Oth...

Finished with the Simon Iff portion of the book, and I need a break. As luck would have it, the last section, 'Golden Twigs,' is apparently a riff on a book called 'The Golden Bough,' a Scottish occult work. So I'm going to nip off and read that, and recharge my brain, softened as it is by Crowley's monstrously self-indulgent writing.

Good lord, this is a slog. I'm almost done with the Simon Iff stories (shitty, derivative, self-aggrandizing 'detective' stories where rarely does any detecting take place). I read that the last section, 'Golden Twigs,' is actually a series of short stories based on the Golden Bough (a book that scandalized the Britain by comparing Christianity to occultism), so I'm going to take a break and read that.
