Status Updates From A Shepard's Look at Psalm 23

When my eyes are on my Master they are not on those around me. this is the place of peace.

"I am completely satisfied with His management of my life. Why? Because He is the sheepman to whom no trouble is too great as He cares for His flock. He is the rancher who is outstanding because of His fondness for sheep — Who loves them for their own sake as well as His personal pleasure in them. He will, if necessary, be on the job twenty-four hours a day to see that they are properly provided for in every detail."

"Contentment should be the hallmark of the man or woman who has put his or her affairs in the hands of God."

this chapter (6: “He guides us in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake) made me teary. it’s hard to be a “sheep” — pun intended, but also not.

and in my teariness, i was reminded: the work required of me has already been done.

“and i am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” (phil. 1:6) ❤️‍🩹

"His ownership of me as a human being is legitimate - simply because it is He who brought me into being and no one is better able to understand or care for me. I belong to Him simply because He deliberately chose to create me as the object of His own affection."
