Romito 1 is believed to be likely younger than posited here and with significant hip and leg bone conditions.
Doesn't rule out familial connection though - possibly an older sister rather than mother?

Mr Field, I love your museum, but archeological theory is not the place to wax poetic.

Blunt force damage has also been disproven. Rib damage is debated but on unsteady ground as it was more likely due to post-mirtem grave robbing in between the discovery of Tutenkhamen's tomb and the 1968 scans.

More out of date info.
Current belief is Ötzi died of blood loss and possibly head trauma relating to an arrow wound and physical attack. There is a possibility he was carrying a person on his back before he died.
Ötzi likely did not die alone.

Unfortunately this book is out of date. The triple burial at the Solní Věstonice site has been tested and recently proven to all be male (XY chromosones) so the ritual theories presented are incorrect, as most had to do with childbirth.
All three are also related, which wasn't even touched on in this chapter, and likely not a prominent theory in the early 2000s.
