Blind date with a book gift from my mom, a nice 'chapter before bed' book so far. Interesting to be told as an elder woman remembering herself as a young girl, as opposed to telling it from a young girls perspective. It adds weight to the tone of storytelling and foreshadows an eventual fall of innocence.
