Status Updates From Alexander Murphy's Home for...

Impenetrable, dense dialogue, unrealistic characters, run-on sentences, pointless exposition about room design and nary a sign of a plot yet. It jumps from past to present tense, sometimes in the middle of sentences.

Not fun.

This is falling into that "really don't want to finish it" stage quite early, unfortunately. The prose is just too dense, too overwritten. Too many run-on sentences, non sequiturs that don't work. One graph in the first chapter is about 30 lines long and the writer so loses the thread amongst multiple ideas, the sentence just doesn't make sense.
