Never finished

I fear the addition of babies and motherhood has taken my interest far away from this story. I am pushing through the last quarter but I’m thinking this one has dropped to a 2 for me. 😔

Nan is quite unlikable and I don’t think that the backstory of her tragic life will fix it, but tbh I don’t think I need her to be likable to keep getting through. The drama is scandalous enough to keep me entertained to keep reading.

Probably going to be a 3 stars unless something egregious or something insane happens.

Part 3 had my jaw literally dropping and audibly saying “Oh shit!”. I liked this book so much more than I first thought I would

The only reason why I’m still listening is bc I have to drive more than an hour this weekend

I recognize that I did this to myself, but I don’t enjoy books that involve cheating or affairs😅😂 it’s gotten better tho, so I guess I’ll keep reading ???

Well…. That last chapter got me hooked

The story is not really about Agatha Christie, and is a non-historical very-fictional story, so it requires a larger suspension of disbelief than normal. I like the mystery even though it’s a little slow. One logistical note- Listening on Audible is TOUGH! The chapters have the same titles, so when I use the sleep timer I have no idea where to start the next day.

i hate to do this but i have to dnf this book 💔💔 i tried soo hard to get into the book but the cheating trope (which ik!!! it’s based on agatha’s disappearance and her husbands affair) but girl is like “yeah im in a committed affair!” and i feel sooo bad for finbar. maybe one day ill finish it but for now i have to close the book xx

Not bad until I got 2/3’s through then it dragged. Tried to do too much. Pained me to finish it. Would give it a 2 but the beginning part was good so 3 it is. Agatha Christie being a character was actually the worst part of the book. Who would have thought that!

The book that keeps the hits coming, Finbarr did not win in this book all the way until the end. So so sad...

This book is way longer than it needs to be.

There are so many sad parts of this book. Reading it, you think "OK, there can't possibly be anything else horrible happening to these people". Then you get hit with even more awful things. This last one brought me to tears. Hopefully there is some happy ending for anyone in this book.

Idk, not into it right now. Pausing, not DNFing. I'll try to get back to it.
