So much detail on each of the six subjects; reminiscent of the biographies in The Metaphysical Club but I get the vibe that this one is less rigorous intellectually

So far (having read about their lives up to high school graduation—and college for McCloy and Kennan): admire Averell, Lovett, and McCloy (Mccloy reminds me of Gio), find Acheson amusing, empathy for Kennan, Bohlen least relatable. Fun read.
