After reading "Transposition," I decided to revisit this. I'm shocked up front, as I'd forgotten how much of Wittgenstein's first 40 pages deal with the ostensive nature of language. Lewis uses this exact idea when he describes the difference that dogs cannot understand ostensive gestures.
