I decided a few days ago that I really wanted to read this book and was bummed because the library didn't have any copies. Lo and behold, I was looking for a book I knew I had read and found this one in the same bookshelf! So now I'm reading it

The writing repetition continues. She’s also obsessed with image and stereotypes— can’t imagine having a *poodle* or wearing an *orange hat* gasp! Perhaps I should consider this book was written 22 years ago, but we’ve come so far from this woman-kowtowing-to-grunting-men narrative it’s hard to go back. She’s also praising pioneers and omitting Indigenous people when talking of the land’s history, which tracks.

My least favorite part about farming memoirs is when people recount horrific animal encounters (horrific for the animals) and think they are being funny.
