Nancy has had a horrible nonconsensual encounter with the boy who saved her at the concert---Collin---and now suffers a life-threatening condition. At her young age, with AIDs, she is fretting about the decline in her usual happy life and the strain of illness whilst still trying to enjoy her days. A childhood best friend, whom she made lifelong plans for marriage, Lew, is a beacon of light in her darkness.

Nancy is a 14-year-old girl who leads an active life and journals about it. She went to a concert and met a guy who helped her during an asthma attack. After the concert, they kept in touch and developed an unlabeled romantic relationship. He is 18, and she is 14. Nancy knows that it is wrong, yet she doesn't stop it. Things are going well so far, but after a date, she goes from lively to depressed.

Nancy was at a concert whenever things went wrong. In the midst of an asthma attack, a boy becomes her white knight. They stay in contact after the concert and see each other frequently. But they have to keep their relationship secret. She is 14 and he is 18. Nancy knows it's wrong, but she doesn't stop it.
