getting to the point where its really really abstract but its still fun to learn regardless
a nice change of pace from cs classes, writing code and running it to see an immediate application vs just learning random stuff nobody will ever use lol
its cool to just go down random rabbit holes and see where you end up

yes its for a class yes its a textbook yes it still counts towards my 12 books for the year
also its pretty accessible so far which is nice
but its annoying they used unlimited register machines instead of turing machines bc urm cant even subtract ??? you have to reset to zero and then increment to what you want ??? which makes some exercises tedious
