Status Updates From Ficciones

The two stories after Tlon were not my favorite but I really enjoyed The Circular Ruins. Captivating writing and amazing ending as always.

There's a fair chance I'm not smart enough for this one.

This has been slow going, and I'm afraid this collection is dangerously close to going on my DNF shelf. These stories, with the exception of the Library of Babel, have almost entirely failed to grab me. Am I alone here? Any suggestions?

Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius - I wasn’t sold at first but then it hooked me. Such a creative narrative with a really immersive and detailed writing style. Truly feels real and of course the ending brought it all together. The exploration of idealism is fascinating but deeper than that this is a story about the power of ideas and worldviews in general. Very very cool.

Difficult to follow but at the same time enticing. I have read that Borges had too much to read and this explains his adventurous writing. In other books I find myself searching for the definitions of words but with this book, I find myself reading Wikipedia biographies and articles to catch all the references alluded to.

This book is an arcana and I know I totally don't fully grasp the meaning.
