The first novel in the series had three kids on holiday finding the holy grail and wandering around the fringes of Arthurian legend while running into figures given over to evil in a small town. Will’s experience is in contrast frightening in a different way, with the scale feeling colossal in a way that it barely ever did for the siblings, and feeling more truly Mythic.

The Coming of the Cold started on Boxing Day and less than 4 pages later was New Year’s Day.
Finished that, The Hawk in the Dark, and The King of Fire and Water. In that last chapter, Will wondered if it was the Epiphany or not, as he lost track of the days.
Just slamming through the rest of this to be done with it.
