Second book in the series. I will need to buy the first, as the library doesn’t have it. I’m enjoying getting to know Giordano Bruno as a person!!
Will set aside and come back to because of reading Barbara Tuchman book that I had on hold.

This has taken a lot longer to get going than the last book, and not as many twists and turns as I hoped, but it's a good story nonetheless and will still plan on completing the series. So far so good.

Listening to book 2 of the Giordano Bruno series. Just picking up, but so far so good!! The historical accuracy brings you right back to then.

Every female character in this series fits into one of three categories: bitch (ugly and above thirty), whore (apparently insanely attractive and around late twenties early thirties, but evil), and pretty (horrifically young for Bruno to be interested in, but God that does not stop him)

Historical fiction has a real thing for every female character on the page having a Thing for the narrator, huh.

Bruno is far more a "professional" spy now that he has had access to those closest to the Queen (Elizabeth I). His thought patterns are up two scales of hubris and intellectual arrogance as are his antennae to conversational nuance. The energy packed monk youth full of explosive vocabularies is far behind.

In this second novel of the series, Giordano Bruno is again thrust into the middle of something exciting and worrying at the same time. While he has been tasked by the French Court to report back on thing in England, Bruno continues his secret connection to Sir Francis Walsingham. When a woman in the Queen’s household is found poisoned, everyone wonders if it is tied to a Catholic plot. Bruno seeks answers for all!
