Starting this book again. I’ve been in a book drought for awhile, so I’m excited to get back into a good book!

working through my stack of in progress books on my nightstand. idk what # attempt i’m on with this one but bookmark is from junior year of college

this book is making me mad

Whenever I download a new book on my kindle, it almost always accidentally hit read now. Then, the book shows up here as currently reading. According to good reads, I started this Jun 22nd. Today, I actually started the book. It's pairing very nicely with Lewis', "A Grief Observed."

this ain’t it for me tbh

Not a fan of this book- rather boring so I quit it early!

“And, to anticipate a later argument, let us not imagine, as some due today, the reason for the apparent unanimity is that the heavy handed orthodox obliterated all trace of a more polymorphous early period. We have plenty of evidence of debates about all sorts of things, and the virtual unanimity on resurrection stands out.”
Resurrection is central to the Christian faith....

Returning to this one

In chapter 4, Tom is listing a series of explanations against the New Testament accounts of the resurrection with his responses. In one of them, he simply responds, “No, that’s not accurate.” And then moves on lololol

Restarting this favorite in light of the passing of a dear friend, who now sleeps peacefully. A wonderful reminder, and sweet refreshment!

Was in a seminar with Papa Wright this week and I miss him already

I don’t think a book could give me greater hope while blowing my mind more

“[Jesus] is in every place… but it is hard to find him.”

Jesus at the resurrection not only issued in a new ethic, salvation, way of life, but a new creation. This is our hope, we are not going to a far away place but he is restoring this one.

Excited to continue reading this book for the sake of understanding the Christian hope clearly for myself but also to be able to share this hope with others. With different people and different backgrounds it can be difficult to share the hope of Jesus in a clear way, but I really think this book will help. Laying a foundation for what my real hope is in.

Very serendipitous that I’m reading this during Lent (all Christians should read this)

Really loving this so far! NT Wright, of course, has a deep knowledge of the Fathers and uses
Scripture, history, and Tradition to explicate what “bringing the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth” looks like for believers now and after the resurrection. Love this so far!!

DNF at 30% ish. This book is for the bible nerds, not the common peasant church goer like me lol

great bookk that helps clarify the true nature of Christian hope nd why we must be bothered about the presenf world

Sooo good but also dense. A single page is enough for me to think on for a month.

Will be reading this one again to comb through the topics! An insightful book about how Christians should approach this world given the hope of a new creation at the second coming. Wright addresses common ideals that go against this hope and are deceptive to the message of new creation in Christ.

I have no idea what this man is trying to say.
