Oh, good! This book had so much of TREY being an idiot, and now ALEXA's a moron too! Man, Feasey really keeps you on your toes.

So Lucien and Tom had a fight? Do you think maybe we could have...SEEN this particular scene?

Why are you dramatically running downstairs when the person is ON THE PHONE telling you what you want to know?

(It's supposed to be dramatic, but instead it's just dumb.)

I'm kind of annoyed that they just took the name "Moloch" and changed the spelling a bit.

Page 126: "There were only six of them," which in context seems to refer to the male members of the pack, minus Ella.

Page 281: With Jurgen and Luke dead, there are "three surviving members," one of whom is Ella.

*facepalm*

Luke was not consumed by the werewolf within or whatever, Trey. He was just an asshole.

Jurgen too, really. I mean, he WAS consumed by werewolf within, but BECAUSE he chose to be an asshole.

Is disbanding the group really better? The problem was that both groups had an asshole for a leader. Ella is not an asshole. Just stay on the magically-protected land and keep her in charge.

Okay, now you DEFINITELY look like an asshole, Trey.

You know Lawrence's name, Trey, you're really starting to look like an asshole when you just call him "Ginger."

Again, this all would have been great if we weren't learning about it in a retroactive infodump. Like, maybe Trey could have actually met these people earlier, learned their backstories and everything BEFORE the shit hit the fan?

Why didn't Feasey just write the scene of them breaking into the house, instead of writing out each detail in retrospect? It's awkward to read. It's not like we need this anyway.

New York, Hell, same difference.

Oh my gosh, I just realized: I want to switch back to the Necrotroph subplot. Trey's story has gotten so bad that the stupid fucking Necrotroph arc feels like a reprieve.

Why...is Trey storming out of the house? I don't think he's mad at Frank anymore. It's LITERALLY just for forced conflict. Frank is trying to tell him how stupid he's being, in literally every way at once, and Trey keeps cutting him off JUST TO PROLONG THE STUPIDITY.

Oh, it's ALL a lie. Obviously Lucien was lying about your dad being a demon fighter, because it's impossible to be a demon fighter and also hurt somebody one time, and it's EXTRA SUPER SPECIAL impossible that FRANK could have lied about anything.

This conflict is SO flimsy. A shady asshole who hates your dad said that he MIGHT have done a bad thing. You yourself acknowledge that he said it to hurt you, but it doesn't even occur to you that he might have been LYING to hurt you? You're seriously going to abandon your entire life over this, Trey?

I think it'd be funny if Marcus REPEATEDLY noted how overly dramatic the other characters are being.

This is where the Trey plot begins an abrupt nosedive.

Okay, so I guess we answered that question. I sort of thought both of his parents were supposed to have inherited lycanthropy, though.

Related note: was Trey's mom a werewolf or not? Because I think she was, but we never hear anything more about her. Does that mean the grandma who raised him was one too?

Have we established that girl werewolves aren't supposed to be a thing? Because that's how Feasey's playing it off but I don't think he actually told us that before.

Side note, "there are no girl werewolves (except this one who is therefore special)" is one of those modern werewolf tropes that I'm vaguely annoyed by.
