Ugh. At first I felt bad for her... but as the book progresses, I can see she's trying to blame Benzino for many decisions that SHE made. She makes lame excuses for why she was so complacent. And she was kind of a skank.

"To this day, I have never spoken to Steve Stout about it, but the last thing I heard about him was that he told someone I made his mother cry. That was not my intention. But what was his mother doing reading the Source anyway?"

I'm angry for her. Hip hop is one of the most misogynistic niches of the entertainment industry. Like her, I'm a woman and a writer and a lover of hip hop. I would've been thrilled to be EIC at The Source. How they did her makes me sick.

How is it that she loved her job, didn't like the abuse that was rushed out, fired people under duress..she was basically bullied, yet she continued to stay? I don't get it.

This book has numerous grammatical and editing errors. Ironic since she was an editor. I remember seeing her bylines in the Source. I recall her being on a Vh-1 show. She was likable. Here, not so much.
