There is nothing better than starting a new book and you can tell immediately that it's going to be good

Wow - this book is full of "hard sells" and I'm not sure I'm up to accepting the latest (Arliss doing porn).

Read The Couple Next Door earlier and now I'm in the mood for another story with Chicago as a backdrop. Marshall Thornton is the best in depicting Chicago's gritty gaping maw, but Rick Reed comes awfully close.
