this makes me so nostalgic for 20 year old me reading this for the first time and becoming a hopeless cynic

Problem is I’ve read the 1st chapter multiple times but don’t remember until reading so I’m rereading again (argh!) in anticipation of actually continuing this time - it always seems fascinating + a fun read + each time I’ve been distracted by life or other things

So here we are, contemplating the titular pendulum again which always reminds me of the 1 they had in the Guggenheim Museum in NYC. And onward
