Status Updates From The Young Merlin Trilogy

Looks like they are putting on a disappearing act and still making their way to the palace gates.

Getting back to the story... The three of them are on their way to Carmarthen and their conversations they are having along the way. Not much is happening.

Now it's starting to come together. The man and woman from the traveling show are starting to ask him who he is he says he is Hawk. He had asked the man if he collected Oddities because he noticed the woman was not exactly normal as she could whistle every sound of birds he knew and didn't know. The man told him he was quite the oddity himself. He wasn't exactly normal to him. That he was welcome to come with them.

This chapter is kinda weird it was very hard to understand it's about the wagon and that situation with the apples and a woman who is with the man who gave Hawk the apples that he apparently still owed him. When he said he owed him nothing as he gave him the coin.

He left the place where the man bled out he cried for him but not for his first family. He went on to another town. This is a scene right out of Aladdin in the marketplace they think the boy is stealing which he now goes by Hawk as he left his old life as Merlin this is what the man he just met called him after he told him a new name. He was almost caught for stealing apples but he paid the man and got 2 apples.

Just when Merlin thinks things got better suddenly more bad things happen. He came into this new place treated like a thief, he changes his name after Merlin doesn't want to tell him the name he got from his old family. Now this new man that has come into his life and is bucked off by his horse and is now on the ground bleeding from his head. He suddenly starts to cry this is beginning to be a little too much for him

All of this happening was he traveling and had he found a new place had he come upon a man who was cooking a rabbit and had a dog who was about to attack. Something happened to the man because he went down and was now bleeding but did it really happen suddenly near the end here it's as if this was a dream Merlin was dreaming. What was the meaning of it?

On the way he ate the rest of his chicken because he was coming upon a place like a village. There should be food and things he was need there. He was now in some place new this was a place he didn't recognize he smelled smoke there.

How sad I thought Merlin was carrying the dog and woman to safety it turns out the whole family was killed in the fire. Now, he had to make a new life for himself. He was now on his own he took what was left so that he could survive on the chickens the eggs he ate before he left as he cooked them in the flames of the house. He took the horse and the cow with it and was off on a new journey it was time to leave.

The next book starts but there is a small introduction it looks like there is a fire that started in the house. There is no explanation yet but Merlin helps to bring a dog and woman to safety.

They tended to the dog that was beaten up and buried the other one who came from the forest with the pack and as they finished the boy reminded the man of all the words he had recently taught him he had been repeating those words back to him as he was talking about a bird he caught. There was one name that caught his attention and he liked it. The man mentioned one of the birds was a Merlin, which would be his name.

Wow the boy gets out of the house kind of walking himself with the harness and one of the dogs goes with him and suddenly there is a fight a pack of dogs comes to fight the mother dog and her grown dogs and the boy is in the middle of it when the man comes and stops it all they go running back into the forest and at the end the mother is beat up a bit so he and the boy go inside to tend to her.

It was time to get the boy outside but he wasn't treated like a human yet the man didn't quire trust him yet. He put the boy in a harness, walking him around outside near the dogs to show him they would protect him. He was strapped to the man as well something he felt comfortable with until they went back inside for a time.

The boy has a look around his room trying to take in his surroundings when he goes through the wardrobe in the room, grabs a fur, and puts it on like a wolf and howls like a dog when he gets a response and stops goes to the window and looks our then the master comes in the room with the women and they just smile at him.

The boy woke again and there was more food he didn't know how it was getting there but it was there. There was more bread and milk this time but he didn't like the milk so he pushed it over. Later on a man came in, and he was no stranger to wild things. He looked at the boy and said he was going to teach him to be tame and be more normal than he was in the wild he would teach him manners.

Finally he's not sleeping or dreaming. He finally gets something to eat. He couldn't remember a time when he ate like this. He had some bread and butter and couldn't remember a time when he felt this full. He then looked outside and noticed trees in the distance and howled and got a response from dogs. That frightened him and he went and hid in bed that's when he fell back asleep for the night.

Now he was at the house the man took him too as he got him cleaned up the woman said he was one of those ones people would release into the forest and they would have yo take care of themselves. This was all new to him. He thought he could be like a deer and go unseen.

Just as he was thinking of the word home he thought of food and good things that's when the man spotted him and picked him up as Merlin was trying to get out of his grasp. He was caught but he wasn't going to hurt him.

It seems like he is either awake or falling asleep I'm not too sure why the author keeps putting him to sleep. It's too fast.

Merlin was still following the man he was chasing he came close one of the times he thought the man saw him but he didn't he was very careful not to let the man know he was there.

Merlin was still watching the man it looks as if you're seeing the man and a hawk go after a lark. The man wins and takes home his win. Merlin is fascinated by this and wants to see more so he makes his way carefully after him.

Merlin comes in contact with someone a man who doesn't know he is there watching as he was in the forest minding his own buisness.

I'm loving the imagery in my head as the story goes on you can kinda see who he is how innocent he is as a child this image we get of his dreams.

Need a change up at the moment. Get myself back to reading... the beginning reminds me a lot of the beginning of the 5th book in the ASOIAF Series. Let's see where this goes.
