Status Updates From Utopia

It’s interesting to read about what the Utopians hold as pleasures, seeing as they don’t value most physical things beyond their usefulness. Even though they value good health, it’s only to the extent that it stops you from feeling bad. Knowledge is another key pleasure, and I find it interesting that there is no discussion of their own works, only that they enjoy the works of foreign authors.

First you think, I know a country where they tried all this and failed, then you realize the book was published 500 years ago, by a chancelor under Henry VIII’s reign… no wonder he was beheaded…

last night i couldn’t fall asleep so i ended up reading almost half of this book. probably could’ve/ would’ve finished the whole thing but i’m glad i went to bed
