This book is quite mediocre - the best parts are the personal recollections and family memories of the author, who grew up with Sartre (his father. Fernando, was a Spanish anarchist and painter - was a very close friend of Sartre and "Beaver" and S., along with Miró, Breton, and Chagall, was actually present at the author's birth).

Uneven - full of gossip (the best part) - an "authorized biography" written by an eccentric, exuberant radical (Gerassi) whose parents were revolutionaries (in Spain) and close friends of Castor ("Beaver") and Sartre.... An unpretentious book, certainly... and short..., I mean (lol) compact.
