I admit it I am hooked. A tad unsettling to find out all is not what it seemed with the Henrys'. The blossoming love between Jenny & Stephen is kinda sweet. Now I am in the conclusion and can't wait to see how this ultimately plays out.

Much of what Stephen says in his musings really makes the reader think. If just one major thing hadn't happened the way that it did then would the main character, Stephen even have been born into existence. Had the ways of the world in our own lives undergone a dramatic turnaround what would our own offspring's life have been like...if they were to exist at all....

Wow, the anticipation of what is to come has me hooked now. Trying to recover from the most recent scenes. So many varied emotions that Stephen has felt. Self pride, Blossoming young love, fear, pain, & now a deep loss.

It is depressing. Regardless of the main character being in a better situation...there is a constant reminder that it is only temporary. I was shocked by the note from Jenny. Glad to see Stephen integrating himself with the townspeople but it is nerve wracking that the kid thinks that life should consist on basically being a nomad.

New characters have been introduced so it is easier to become engrossed now that there is more "story" to learn. Should get more interesting and the vivid cheery description of the town as opposed to the description of the shambles of the rest of America provides a lot of hope for all of the characters in the story.

Wow what can I say? I am enjoying the book yet am still bothered this is mandatory reading for a 7th grader. I can't even read it at night because it bothers me so much. The slavers, slaves, a teenage who alleviates mental pain by turning it physically on himself. Really disturbing events.

I'm up to part that made me ill...character causin himself physical pain (making himself bleed) in order to alleviate mental torture.Isn't this somethin we refer to today as "cutting"?ok maybe he used his own fingernails 2 draw blood but 2 me it's the same thing. How is this okay readin 4 an impressionable teen girl? Readin a mindless book in between days readin this. Will be encouragin my girl 2 do the same....
