'From Esme- with Love and Squalor' is now one of my favorites among these nine stories. I find the relationship between Esme and the narrator is adorable. It talks of youth, innocence and friendship.

It always takes me forever to read slinger stories. I guess I just want to get everything I can out of it, Or maybe tumblr is just distracting me.

Pretty Mouth and Green My Eyes...the title alone is worthy of five stars!

um, maybe i only love the catcher in the rye...

I put it away for a few months and tried again. This is still a no for me.

I enjoy how after every story I have to run to google all "what was going on in .."

Am I reading this wrong or is there an undercurrent of pedophilia in several of these stories? *is probably misinterpreting*

I thought I could read this book straight through, but after each story, I've found I need a few minutes' silence/reflection. Basically, every story feels like a punch to the gut. (in a good way)
