I just can’t get enough of J.D. Salinger!

I had no idea this was where Esme Squalor from ASOUE got her name from!

My first time reading J. D. Salinger! So far so good. I like his sharp writing style. The first story was an interesting look at PTSD and how it was handled and perceived by others at the time (not well)

Reading this again since Salinger is my favourite author

The tricky thing about reading a short story collection is that sometimes you finish a story and then you can’t really start another one, and then what are you supposed to do??? Be alone with your thoughts???????

the DESCRIPTIONS!! the way the descriptions make me feel like i’m watching a movie… i love how on the surface the stories are just in depth descriptions of interactions that probably last 30 minutes at most… but you’re already attached to the characters and can derive meaning from something that is traditionally a boring everyday interaction
