This book is very encouraging and is bringing to light how we should be asking for blessings from God. It’s kinda like “well duh” but the way it’s mentioned makes you think about how we go day to day not in much expectancy for God to bless us when it should be opposite.

On this page Wilkinson give the fictional account of a "giant of the faith" beginning his prayer with "please bless me." A 'giant' would know better. Jesus gave the correct model for prayer, it should always begin with praise and adoration of our Father, followed by submission to His will, not ours.

Short little book that, although I'm enjoying, still not 100% sure about. Getting some good things out of it though. Right now. Id say its *about* 3/5 and that 3 is kind of on the low end for me but not quite in the 2s for me. For now.

Whatever our gifts, education, or vocation might be, our calling is to do God’s work on earth.

Bull shit with some bible verses thrown in. I guess it’s imparting the power for anyone to ask for help and forgiveness through its convoluted jargon.

Instead of standing near the river's edge, asking for a cup of water to get you through each day, you'll do something unthinkable--you will take the little prayer with the giant prize and jump into the river!

4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

To all who like christians in the book of Acts, look at what they are now and who they'll never be, and what they can do now and what they'll never be able to do and still ask God for the world.
