أقدم نسخة موجودة من انجيل مرقس تعود إلى سنة 220م اي بعد كتابة مرقس لها ب 150 سنة وهي نسخة غير كاملة ناقصة أول ثلاث اصحاحات وآخر اربع اصحاحات هذا غير التشوهات و الأجزاء التالفة من الصفحات الموجودة
هذه الفجوة الزمنية الكبيرة معتاد وجودها في معظم كتابات العهد الجديد
وهذه النسخة نسخة من نسخة من نسخة .. كم خطأ قد قام به النساخ لا نعلم لأننا لا نملك النسخ الأصلية
لا يوجد نسخة كاملة لانجيل مرقس قبل القرن الرابع الميلادي
