This is actually really good. Seems to be worth the hype. I hadn’t wanted to read this but it’s exceeded my expectations.

peter david's riker is disgusting

Maybe the first book in the Start trek universe I start. I read only 1st chapter: an intriguing beginning and so much to discover yet. :)

So far so good.

This book takes place when Riker is seventy-four, but it’s reading like an alternate universe because it’s based on canon from thirty years ago. In 1992, TNG season six was airing, and Generations was only in pre-production. Sooo much has happened in ST since then. It’s making my head hurt.

Gotta love when the ole TBR Jar is feeling super random with a side of nerdy. This will be my first Star Trek book!

Excited to finally be reading this book since Deanna and Riker is my fave Star Trek couple. I’m even more excited since Jonathan Frakes (Riker) is narrorating the audiobook.

Reading an alternate version than the one pictured.

Okay nothing has made me laugh harder then “traction”. This book has already earned five stars

Every year I try to read at least one book outside my comfort zone and since the two genres I hate the most are Fantasy and Science Fiction, this fits.

Also, I’m not a Trekki by birth - I had to convert when I got married. But I kinda like TNG and Riker was my favorite so I’m hoping this book won’t be so bad. Plus it’s my husband’s favorite so here goes

Still probably my favorite Star Trek book

I really enjoyed this and it was fun to be with my favourite characters again, but the writing was very corny and all in all this was nothing more than just fun.

The past year my boyfriend has turned me into a huge Star Trek fan. Before I met him I though that Star Trek was 1 or maybe 2 at most movies from the 70s (I had no idea it was a tv show -- oh the ignorance!). But now after watching all 7 seasons of the Next Generation, all 13 movies and currently making my way through Deep Space Nine I am obsessed and I want more! And I hope this book delivers.

Apparently this is widely considered the best of the 1990s Star Trek tie-in novels.

On its showing so far, I'm glad I was a Doctor Who fan in the 1990s.

This will most likely remain the only ST novel I'll be reading... it feels like a guilty pleasure. I can't stop seeing ALL the flaws, then again I'm kind of enjoying it, too.

This is quite intense and is making me think a lot. I am enjoying this

Bei Peter David sind die Helden aus TNG unreife, verbitterte und triebgesteuerte Opfertypen. William Riker ist in der Vergangenheit hirn- und empathie-amputiert, in der Zukunft als grauhaariger Admiral durch Depressionen praktisch dienstunfähig. Wesley Crusher ist inzwischen über 50, Captain, und trotzdem noch ein unsicherer Junge. Beverly Crusher verdrängt unangenehme Erinnerungen.

I'm loving it so far.... Lwaxana always has the last word.
