Status Updates From Imprudente

I'm very much enjoying the book but it is repetitively inducing my feminine rage. Not the fault of the author though as it is fairly accurate for the time period.

Also claiming that your rapist isn't a rapist just because he's handsome and doesn't seem to habitually hit women has to be one of the most idiotic things I've ever read.

I think I read this drivel just because I know how much it's going to infuriate me. I am such a masochist!

I needed to see this book through…I cared about the leads & wanted to know their story…

well, this is going better than I thought. Even though I was bracing myself for a heinous hero who terrorizes the heroine, to my relief it's not like that. It's going better than I thought....I'm still a little on edge though..there are dark themes nonetheless.

After reading the reviews about how the Hero changed drastically since book 1, I was hesitant to read this book…but, I really want to find out what happened to Alex--what made him so hard & mean.…I must be into self-inflicted pain,,UGH..well, here goes…..feels like I'm getting on a scary roller-coaster.

Barely started it and the guy already HIT her. AND promised to rape her. OK, it's a historical, but COME ON.

Oh, blech. Why can't heroines in these books ever have the spine to resist? Just once I'd like to see a heroine hold out until the hero shows her some respect. Nothing like going all mushy over a jerk who treats her like crap

I still really dislike this guy. He sees more and more about her to find admirable and he's still setting out to shame her, knowing he'll be sending her back to people who will hurt her for it. I kind of want this guy to die, so the heroine can fall in love with someone good.

OK, right now I really, really hate the hero! He knows he's about to destroy the life of an innocent woman, one who was good to his niece and nephews, and he's going to do it anyway. I will hate it if she goes meekly. I want her to make him pay.
