The writing is really good, but a lot of the authors seem to have this weird thing with the same type of sexual assault 😥

Have read some of these authors. I’m not big on Short Stories, but most of these are good. A few excellent. I’ll be checking out books from a couple who I’ve never seen before.

At least two of these stories are good. Many of the rest have some degree of issue. Not to say I'm not liking them, it's just some of these stories are bland or poorly told.

What happens when your story features a hurricane that doesn't matter and is unrelated to the climax? A guy dies, and the hurricane has nothing to do with it. This is the second time that's happened this book. At least the first time, a guy died due to another character. This time, it's 'an alligator did it and nothing matters.'

Kind meh stories so far. Maybe like one interesting one, but even that one's not really one to write home about. Decent ideas though, but the frustrating part is that the stories feel... somehow false.

Guess I'm reading this one. Short story collection. Like about 90% of my reading list this year, straight text, no audio. Not that there's anything wrong with audiobooks. Indeed, I'll probably be audiobooking more next year, but this year's been about forcing myself to read text often to create the habit.
So far interesting book but nothing too special. Like the setting though. :)
