I’m an idiot. If I knew, I forgot that Veterans’ Day in America is the 11ty day of the 11th month because that’s the day WWI ended, on the 11th hour as well. I will not forget. We should never forget the sacrifices those before us made so we could be where we are today. Oh, look up the story of the Star Spangled Banner. That’s sobering too. Respect to those who came before.

Despite this being so short, it is not a story you can just plow through. It invites deep thinking and self-reflection. I would have blown through a less deep story in one to two sittings. This one I need to space between other books, or I would miss something or be overwhelmed. Very good read so far. It meets me where I am right now.

Excellent how-to on dealing with another person’s grief. Shut up, don’t judge and let them talk and cry and do what they need to do to start/continue their healing process. Much more beautifully written than I just paraphrased. Worth reading just to get to this point in the story. I was meant for read this book now. Perfect time, perfect book, perfect reader.
