ok so… i didn’t realize this was written by a white dude and i really don’t wanna read anything by a white person on hiphop. from the first chapter on luke campbell of 2 live crew fame, this book seems like it’s gonna be a pretty surface level introduction to the pioneers of southern hiphop (and if the TOC is accurate, that doesn’t include any women). so we’ll see how it goes from here
