The Aurors reached Harry’s place at the table, surrounding him from three angles. “Yes?” Harry said, as normally as he could. “What is it?”“Hermione Granger,” Auror Komodo said in a toneless voice, “you are under arrest for the attempted murder of Draco Malfoy.”

“And,”her voice said, “if you want to break school rules or something, you can ask me about it, I promise I won’t just say no.”

This is remarkably good; never thought I'd be reading fan fiction, especially not a 68 hour long audiobook, but it's like it's written just for me, suits my tastes wonderfully, I'm flying though it (I even look forward to menial tasks to get to listen to it now!).

"After a moment, Harry heard the Hat laughing too, a strange sad
clothy sound."
I'm fasting but what in the actual.....? The red squiggly line under clothy has a meaning Mr. Yudkowsky.
The only reason I continued this was because I had 2 pages left for the chapter before I put the book on hold for Ramadhan.
I want to high-five the Hat for his last sentence. Here's your "clothy" hi-five my man.

I don’t like it. I’m more than halfway through so I don’t want to give up, but I just can’t now. So I’m setting this aside & I’ll try to pick it up again later in the year. It’s just not well written as a story. I understand that it’s first and foremost an introduction rationality, but it doesn’t make rationality look appealing.
It might be good-ish theory, but it’s bad storytelling.

I can see why people either love or hate this (even at 2%) because of how much of an insufferable kid Harry is (think young Sheldon from Big Bang Theory).
So when the author wrote in "Harry was something of a sore loser" I find it satisfying. (Because knowing the author's wiki-background, I was afraid that Harry's jerk/assholery was in a way an extension of him)
Let's see if this holds up.

I see the author tried to bring in his main job in the story (Artificial Intelligence).

Been hearing Tom talk about this book 18973 every time a book recc comes up (and I'm relistening old Inforium/CIG episodes too) and finally broke down and checked it out even though I told myself to finish the Obamas first before this - whoops.
So far I enjoyed it! Young Harry sounds like young Sheldon from BBT so I was a bit "???" at first but I've warmed up to the idea. Reading up on the author also helped.
