-- To correct the format of the Goodreads preface, I should say that I'm 100% finished with the first 85 chapters. In fact, I've read them three times: once before ever reading the real Harry Potter series, once after, and once again after Yudkowsky went back and did some rewriting of the early chapters. I eagerly await Chatper 86, which is said to be some 80,000 words long and growing.

I seem to be breaking my own rule about not reading fan fiction. The exception that proves the rule, rules were meant to be broken, etc. Thanks, Mickey!

Started out strong and now it's getting a little too unrealistic as far as characterization for my taste, despite how interesting this Machiavellian version of Harry is to me. I might pick it back up again at some point, though.

The fanfic-Malfoy is actually more believable (and likeable) than the movie-Malfoy.

Maybe they believe they believe there's a dragon, it's called belief-in-belief. But they don't actually believe it. You can be mistaken about what you believe, most people never realize there's a difference between believing something and thinking it's good to believe it.

I am loving this!! A very different Harry Potter mixed with science has kept my attention on 2 4 hour flights, and I still can't put it down.

A slog of a book, I'd be lying if I said it was easy reading. The problem is that I've currently got 3 books I'm somewhat stuck on. Need more fun reads.

Pretty interesting twist/take on HP. Liked it so far. Hope it continues this way.
