Bravo! What was the best book you read this year, Faith?

Thanks, Cher! This hasn't been the best year for me--lots of 3 and 4- star reads, but not any 5-star fiction reads. Among the best were Burr and Hag-Seed toward the end of the year. I also adored Fearless Girls, Wise Women & Beloved Sisters: Heroines in Folktales from Around the World which I used for research. Among the non-fiction, my favorite was The Amazons: Lives and Legends of Warrior Women Across the Ancient World. How about you?
I always love asking my literary friends this question at the end of the year. I swear it is the best source of book discovery! Mine was either And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer, a short but powerful novella that can squeeze a tear from even the blackest of hearts, or The House of Special Purpose, an enthralling and beautifully written historical fiction novel about the last Tsar and his family.
