Hi, Wanda!
I am so delighted to hear you liked the book. As a fellow history buff (well, I'm more of a history nut, actually), I really love the quirkier side of it as well. The best part is, there's always something new to dazzle and astonish you, even when you think you've seen it all.

BTW, the "History of Postcards" slide program sounds really cool!

Happy New Year -and thank you again for your message.

Best,

This is a book club that does more than eat and drink, sometimes we actually talk about the book.

There is an audio CD of it, as well as a Kindle version, of course. It's an intense war story about Vietnam, just as good as "The Things They Carried," "Going After Cacciato," and "A Rumor of War." Its focus is narrow but that just makes things more clear: the ambitions of a yount Lt. willing to scarifice his people for prestige and personal gain. Which, when you get down to it, is a theme as old as "The Iliad."

Belinda Hi,

I have read all the same except Matterhorn. Is it on tape? It might be my book to listen to while I drive to Killington on weekends. Belinda
