Michael Henry's books seem unrelated, but they have a common theme: sustainability. He's a forest ecologist who focuses on conservation of old growth forests, including threats from invasive species, development and logging. He is author of the successful books Ontario’s old-growth forests (second edition now available), and Old-growth forest walks: 26 hikes in Ontario's Greenbelt.

Michael has also worked for many years as a plasterer and straw bale builder, and is lead author of the book Essential Natural Plasters: A Guide to Materials, Recipes, and Use. His next book will draw from his decades of experience in building, forests, and the environmental movement, and examine what true sustainability looks like.
