"سيئ جدًّا. باستثناء جزء موت كافكا، مافيش في الرواية سرد كافي ينقل للقارئ شخصية كافكا، فما قدرتش أشوفه. كل اللي الرواية بتعمله إلى حد كبير هو التربيط بين أجزاء من رسائله إلى حبيباته المتواليات بروابط هزيلة الحقيقة."
