Tom van Menzing was born and raised in Munich, Germany. An advertising man by vocation, and an avid traveler by inclination, he has visited five dozen countries and lived in six. His fiction is inspired by these territories’ history. It forms the realistic backdrop to the vain pursuits of deeply flawed characters. Not always does their quest end happily.

“History is the highest form of narrative. I could not have invented what had happened, so I mostly stuck to the truth.”

Tom now lives and writes in Cyprus.
