James Eddy was born in Braintree, Essex in April 1980. After moving first to Colchester, Essex, the family settled in South Norfolk and James was able to enjoy the wide open spaces and quiet of the area which fed his imagination. Following an undistinguished University career, he began writing scripts for films and acting out the cliche of the drunken writer. He diversified by moving into prose and eventually focussed enough to write a collection of Short Stories called 'Diamonds'. His most recent release is the Novella 'In Dreams' and a Novel called 'The Dark Era' is set to be released in October 2014. ...more

Basically, I have a back-up story that I have broadly mapped out in my mind but which I don't intend to actually write anytime soon. If I get completely stuck with the book I'm writing then the idea is to start writing the back-up story and write my way through the writer's block.(less)

I think for everyone, life weighs heavy sometimes but when I'm writing it seems to lift and all that matters is getting the story right and then getting the structure, the paragraphs, the sentences and the words as right as I can make them. There's a kind of pressure to that I guess although I only really feel that when I'm not writing. And all that really does is encourage me to write some more.(less)

Glaucoma Review

So, I saw a Play a few weeks ago and I liked it enough to write a review:

Glaucoma – CapaTaro Theatre Company

An incendiary ‘call-to-arms’ of a production.

When you’re dealing with the concept of political resistance then surely the only way to begin is with an assault on the senses. This is how Glaucoma begins: with a quite stunning concoction of sound, movemen
