the protagonist whose telling the story somehow is in the first person, but is also ominiscent to the couple ann-marie and dean including their hotel bed rooms, dean is the person the protagonist wishes he could be in the way that keroauc and ginsberg wanted to be dean of On The Road, someone with balls and a little crazy, that is self-centered and unscrupulous to get what he wants. dean wants to be ann-maries lover but does not want to commit to her. but he'll ask friends and family for money for ann marie so he can take her to visit french towns and dine and hotel rooms, the sex scenes are steamy but not pornograhic. writers are observers but probably every one of them would trade places to be Dean. d...more
