James Ramelli was born in Brantford, Ontario in 1988 and grew up in both Etonia and Paris, ON, Canada. He graduated at Steinbach Bible College with a major in Pastoral Ministries. He lives in Calgary, AB with his wife, Hannah. Rather than finding his identity in any career title or accomplishment, James identifies as one "in Christ". Though he was not raised as a Christian, God drew him to Himself in salvation in 2007 when he was 19 years old. James enjoys reading theological books, playing hockey, meeting people from various cultures, hiking, camping and of course, writing. Currently, James is host of The Opposition Podcast, and will soon return to writing another book. He hopes to one day start his own business. ...more

Charles Haddon Spurgeon
“Give yourself unto reading. The man who never reads will never be read; he who never quotes will never be quoted. He who will not use the thoughts of other men’s brains, proves that he has no brains of his own. You need to read.

. . .

We are quite persuaded that the very best way for you to be spending your leisure time, is to be either reading or praying. You may get much instruction from books which afterwards you may use as a true weapon in your Lord and Master’s service. Paul cries, “Bring the books” — join in the cry.”
Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Thomas R. Schreiner
“Just as the sin of Adam was imputed to all people, so also the obedience of Christ has been imputed to believers. Adam”
Thomas R. Schreiner, Faith Alone---The Doctrine of Justification: What the Reformers Taught...and Why It Still Matters

Thomas R. Schreiner
“Believing in the gospel isn’t optional. It is imperative, for those who don’t put their trust in Jesus will face eschatological humiliation (Rom 9:33; 10:11). Conversely, believers are the children of Abraham (Gal 3:6; cf. 3:8) and therefore the children of God (3:26). They belong to God’s family and are members of the true Israel of God (6:16). Those”

John Piper
“Sleep is a daily reminder from God that we are not God. Once a day God sends us to bed like patients with a sickness. The sickness is a chronic tendency to think we are in control and that our work is indispensable. To cure us of this disease God turns us into helpless sacks of sand once a day.”
John Piper

Martin Luther
“If I profess with loudest voice and clearest exposition every portion of the truth of God except that little point which the world and the Devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christ. Where the battle rages, there the loyalty of the soldier is proved, and to be steady on all the battlefield besides, is mere flight and disgrace if he flinches at that point.”
Martin Luther
