Dawnette Brenner is a San Francisco Bay Area native, teacher, and aspiring author who is currently evolving her first completed manuscript and crafting a second young adult coming-of-age novel. Her latest project, Joshua Creed: Curse of the Faet (Fate), is targeted for publication later this year. Dawnette maintains an active presence across Goodreads, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

A devoted mother of four adult children and a proud grandmother, she cherishes family time and shares her love of reading through the generations. She recently lost one of her children to cancer and is in deep grief.

I enjoyed this story and the way Marks incorporated dual POV to tell the story. This feels like middle grade drama and I imagined several of my student's over the years, acting the way the characters did. It was heartfel and blended magical elements ...more
